AmeriKKKa has been seen as a bastion of wealth and prosperity for over a century. People come from all over the world to make better lives for themselves. While you can definitely make a better life for yourself here if coming from a country with less material development, AmeriKKKan media tends to largely focus on half of the story. The glitz and glamour that celebrities and a select few people boast is not the reality of AmeriKKKa, but it causes us to DREAM.
On the one hand, you have the media salivating over the wealth of corporate CEOs and athletes. Just turn on ESPN and you’ll soon see a report about some athlete who just signed for an amount of money that makes its viewership shake their head in awe. You also have digital collectibles or non-fungible tokens (NFTs) selling for ungodly amounts of money, DIGITAL COLLECTIBLES! When you factor in current stock market valuations, It would seem as though the pockets of American citizens are just busting at the seams with money, but the reality is far from that.
On the other hand the joblessness rate of 6% according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest numbers, is down from the highs of last April, but may not tell the whole story due to people dropping out of the workforce. Also, nearly 70% of Americans have less than $1000 in savings, according to a survey from GoBankingRates. It is not uncommon for people to be in perpetual debt from student loans, credit cards, mortgage, etc. Add to that the permanent shuttering of over 100,000 businesses last year according to a report by Yelp, the rising cost of goods and services and a wave of automation sweeping the country and you start to get a very different, very grim picture of AmeriKKKa, indeed.
Life in AmeriKKKa is much more polarizing financially than appearances lead on. It’s important to step back and look at the whole picture. AmeriKKKa is not the richest country in the world, nor the greatest. I don’t think a country where many of its citizens are subject to financial struggles and debt slavery just so a few can live lavishly can lay claim to “The greatest country in the world.” This is simply part of a propaganda campaign meant to polish the image of AmeriKKKa but in reality, this is just a country where many of its citizens either live in luxury or austerity...mostly the latter.
