In our society, hustle culture is very prominent. We feel as though we have to constantly be busy in order to get where we want to be or even feel like we have worth. This hustle culture can easily become toxic though. We are constantly busying ourselves and in the process we ignore ourselves. We put the almighty dollar above our well being.
There is a Taoist saying that goes “Nature never rushes, yet nothing is left undone.” It’s served as a hint that hustle culture is anti-nature and that we, as beings of Nature, would do well to not indulge in it. A much more sustainable approach would be to attract that which you desire. The law of attraction is not some magical force and it is not mere wishing. What attraction is is orienting your mind toward your goals. The premise being that when you orient your mind toward what you want, you will pursue those things seemingly without effort. If you have to chase something, that means it is trying to get away and it is not for you. If you are attracting something that is a sign that that thing is in alignment with who you are and thus is for you.
The power of the mind is underrated. Your mind is the creator of your world. Instead of putting so much emphasis on what the body is doing, pay attention to what is in your mind. If you want to accomplish your goals, write them down, meditate on them, examine them regularly and keep them in your mind’s focus. This is important because sometimes we adopt goals that look good on someone else but are just not for us. Keeping your goals in your mind will ensure that they are in alignment with you as a person. When you have goals that are in alignment with who you are, you won’t have to be busy all of the time. Then you’ll have the time to actually care for yourself, which is a goal we should all have anyway.
