The Human Artist

We’re bred to be characters in a TV show. Definable by a set number of traits and we are not to act outside of them. In doing this we ignore the most of ourselves. We relegate these traits to the shadow realm and instead of us expressing those traits earnestly and healthily, they express themselves because we’ve given up control over them.
The goal of the artist is to discover who they are, fully, consolidate all of those conflicting energies and channel them towards works of art. Artists typically seem weird, eccentric or downright crazy. That is because they allow their full selves to be on display. They do not repress elements of themselves and while they may vary in degree of spiritual freedom, they are more spiritually free than the typical person.
All humans deep down are artists. To the degree you allow your environment to dictate who you should be, you ignore who you actually are. It is an act of courage to be yourself, especially in a world that wants so hard to make you like everyone else. Discover who you truly are, or better yet create it and be that unapologetically.
